Some fundraising 'tips' from the training course
Getting ready to raise funds - planning involves logical steps
• Clarify the problem or the need that is to be met.
• Define the aims and objectives of the project.
• Be sure of your legal status are you a Registered
Charity (and should you apply to become one?)
• Decide on the methods to achieve the aims.
• Draw up short-term and long-term plans.
• Prepare a financial budget (cost the plans).
• Identify possible sources of funds.

Handsworth Funding and Fundraising Consortium (Reed Consultancies Ltd) is registered with the Data Protection Registrar under the Data Protection Act 1998 (Registration No. Z8807138). Reed Consultancies Ltd maintains a data base of names, addresses and other information that is relevant to the project and needed to manage training events, bid writing support and in order for us to be able to contact community groups, voluntary organisations and faith based groups in the SRB6 area. The Consortium (Reed Consultancies Ltd) has a Data Protection Policy which has been written to ensure we keep only up to date, relevant and accurate personal information, that we process it fairly, respect confidentiality, do not abuse information and are open about what we do. The Consortium (Reed Consultancies Ltd) maintains a data base which it is required to pass on to SRB6. The information we hold is mainly names and addresses and information about the organisations registered with us in order for us to be able to provide specific training and support in writing funding applications. The Data Protection Act 1998 requires us to ask organisations for their permission to record personal information on our data base. We will not provide personal information (e.g. names and addressees) to organisations other than SRB6 without your consent other than information we may be legally required to provide. You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you (although we may charge a small fee to cover the administration of this service).
